Local First hosts accessible, family-friendly Street Party
What’s new and what’s returning to the 14th annual celebration of all things local

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The 14th annual Local First Street Party, presented by Founders Brewing Company, will feature several local food vendors, bands, and family-friendly activities on Saturday, June 3. In addition to returning activities, some new additions will help change things up. The event will take place outside Bistro Bella Vita from 3:00pm to midnight.

The Street Party celebrates the vibrant West Michigan community and highlights the local businesses who help sustain our economy. Proceeds from the event go to the Local First Educational Foundation the businesses it serves.

“We are so grateful for all the support we receive from more than 50 sponsors and community partners,” says Elissa Hillary, President of Local First. “The Street Party is a great place to showcase the locally produced food, beverage, and talent that make West Michigan a unique and wonderful place to live.”

To kick things off, Mayor Bliss, She Rides Her Own Way, and GR We Ride will roll up just as the party is starting. Those who participate in the bike ride or ride the Rapid to the Street Party will receive a free concession ticket. Bike parking provided by the Grand Rapids Bicycle Coalition – bring a lock! AM Yoga welcomes all attendees with 30 minutes of gentle yoga at 3:00pm, followed by bands and entertainment all afternoon.

This year, the Street Party will host an expanded kids’ activity area with the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum, Audacious Hoops, Sanctuary Folk Art and 61Syx Teknique Street Dance Academy. Bilingual signage and DisArt will help make the event more accessible to Grand Rapids residents and visitors.

This event is free to attend. Food and drink tickets will be available for purchase with cash or card.
