Van Andel Arena® Ranks as Billboard’s #1 Mid-Sized Venue in North America

Grand Rapids — Billboard magazine recently dropped their mid-year charts, and SMG-managed Van Andel Arena can be found among the top venues in the world. In fact, the Grand Rapids venue can be found right at the top!

Billboard lists Van Andel Arena as the #1 venue in North America (#6 worldwide) for all venues with a capacity range of 10,001-15,000. Additionally, DeVos Performance Hall came in as the #13 theater venue worldwide. Billboard used total reported gross ticket sales from November 1, 2018 – April 30, 2019 to rank venues around the world.

Events such as Kenny Chesney, Justin Timberlake, Dierks Bentley, Metallica, KISS, Bob Seger, and several others contributed to the numbers at Van Andel Arena over that time period. At DeVos Performance Hall, Brit Floyd, Aziz Ansari, John Mellencamp, Harry Connick, Jr., Straight No Chaser, RBRM, and many more helped fill the seats.

Both venues are looking to keep the momentum going with Willie Nelson & Family and Alison Krauss on August 9, Rob Zombie & Marilyn Manson on August 13, Chris Stapleton on August 16, Alabama on August 23, and JoJo Siwa: D.R.E.A.M. The Tour on August 27 at Van Andel Arena and “Weird Al” Yankovic on July 26, Why Don’t We on August 26, Cedric “The Entertainer” on September 7, Serie Latina presents La Santa Cecilia on September 20, and comedian Eddie B on September 21 at DeVos Performance Hall.
