Did you know that the country’s school bus system is the largest form of mass transportation in America?
Mike Martin, executive director of the National Association of Pupil Transportation said that, on a daily basis, the nation’s school buses move the entire population of New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Philadelphia, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Chicago combined.
That’s a lot of students to take care of, and that safety is one of the prime issues addressed at the NAPT Annual Summit, which is the industry’s “showcase event.”
“We have all components of the industry and all the equipment and related services represented in our trade show area,” Martin said.
The event, which has met more than once in Grand Rapids, Michigan, also included more than three dozen workshops on various topics and abundant networking opportunities for industry professionals to share ideas.
“Grand Rapids is frankly a great fit for us,” Martin said. “Central location, really, really nice people here – big reason we like to come back.”
