    Happy Holidays 2014

In Grand Rapids, it's not the holiday without The Nutcracker. Grand Rapids Ballet has been presenting lavish productions of this beloved classic for more than 40 years, entertaining generations of local residents and holiday visitors.

This year's version of the annual tradition is even more special - because three world-class talents are bringing their creative vision to the project. Grand Rapids native Chris Van Allsburg, author of The Polar Express and other beautifully told tales, is teaming with Tony and Emmy award-winning designer Eugene Lee to create new sets and production design. Distinguished choreographer Val Caniparoli, who has worked with more than 35 ballet, opera and theaters across the world, will bring the characters to life through dance.

The result is a dazzling new interpretation of this cherished holiday show, one sure to thrill both Nutcracker veterans and first-timers. This event is so momentous that the city is proclaiming December "Nutcracker Season" - and local businesses are collaborating to make it even more enjoyable for you!
