Grand Rapids LipDub
It's our way of welcoming you to Grand Rapids, Michigan: a world record-breaking lip dub video featuring thousands of participants throughout our city lip-synching to Don McLean's "American Pie."
The Grand Rapids Lip Dub video has surpassed 1.6 million viewers on YouTube and has garnered worldwide media coverage spanning multiple continents, including Asia, Europe and Australia. In the U.S., it's attracted plenty of attention and accolades from coast to coast:
Film critic Roger Ebert dubbed it the "greatest music video ever made."
Nightly news magazine, "Inside Edition," featured segments of the video in its syndicated show.
Yahoo! Music featured it on their website, along with Mashable highlighting it on their homepage.
Kathy Lee and Hoda discussed the LipDub video on their segment of The Today show. Watch the clip.
Perhaps the greatest endorsement came from the "American Pie" singer himself. Don McClean posted "Amazing "American Pie" LipDub http://bit.ly/j2DjJ3" to his followers on Twitter.
