Cultural Festivals & Celebrations
Grand Rapids hosts dozens of free-to-attend cultural festivals and celebrations each year, many of which include musical performances. The Celebrating All Walks of Life Pow Wow, Homecomign of the Three Fires, Grand Rapids Asian-Pacific Festival, West Michigan Italian Festival, Sparta Celtic Festival, A Glimpse of Africa Festival, Grand Rapids Hispanic Festival, Greenville Danish Festival, Dozynki Polish Festival, Yassou! Greek Cultural Festival, Grand Valley American Indian Pow Wow, African American Arts and Music Festival, Oktoberfest and Pulaski Days give visitors the opportunity to enjoy culturally authentic music – plus food, art and more – from around the globe.
World of Winter (Jan-Feb), Justice 4 All Juneteenth Jam (June), Grand Rapids Pride Festival (June), Return to the River Festival (Aug) and Confluence Festival (Sept) present more contemporary music from regional and national performers, all free to listen and dance to.
Relax at Rosa
Relax at Rosa is a free lunchtime entertainment series held every summer Thursday from noon-1:30pm in downtown GR. Each week features a different musical act along with a collection of food trucks. Purchase a bite to eat and grab a seat in Rosa Parks Circle, a Maya Lin sculpture that doubles as a community gathering space. Relax at Rosa 2026 runs from May 7 - Sept 24.
Tuesday Evening Music Club
You may know about the Summer Concert Series at Meijer Gardens , which brings the country’s biggest touring superstars to perform in a gorgeous outdoor setting. But did you know that Meijer Gardens also hosts a summer Tuesday Evening Music Club that brings talented local and regional musicians to the Meijer Gardens Amphitheater stage? Tickets are free for members and included with general admission for nonmembers. You can bring a picnic basket with food from home to enjoy during the show, and beer, wine, specialty drinks and nonalcoholic beverages are available at a concessions stand. Presented on Tuesday evenings in June, July and Aug.
