Grand Rapids is easy to get around in-even when roadwork is in progress. Check these links to view all current area roadwork so you can avoid temporary traffic disruptions and plan a quick, convenient alternate route:
Please visit www.michigan.gov/drive for the most up-to-date information regarding lane closures, traffic cameras and incidents.
Most road construction has been halted for the winter. There are a handful of lane shifts and shoulder closures around town but nothing that should impede traffic. Please pay attention to winter weather forecasts and conditions as you plan your trip and travel around Grand Rapids/Kent County.
Stretches of Division Avenue between Fulton and Michigan streets will be closed from spring into fall. Motorists can take Monroe Avenue or Ionia Avenue as alternate north-south routes through downtown.
The Division Avenue and Fulton Street intersection will close for an estimated four months starting in July.
Lyon Street between Monroe Avenue and the Grand River will be closed from July through November to complete the Lyon Square revitalization project. This is not a thru street but access to the DeVos Place parking ramp will be impeded. Visitors can still enter the ramp from Michigan Street.
Details on these and other upcoming city street and highway projects will be added here as soon as they become available. Please check back before your trip.
There are no ongoing highway construction projects currently underway.
Be sure to check this page next spring as road construction season begins anew!
