Zoo Goes Boo is nine days of trick-or-treating, costumes, entertainment, animal fun and more at John Ball Zoo. Oct. 11-13. 18-19 and 25-27.
The Pumpkin Prowl invites families to downtown Ada for trick-or-treating, live DJ music, treats, photo ops, family-friendly activities, haunted passages and spooky surprises. Oct. 25.
Rolling Rabbit Books in Byron Center hosts a Spooky Booky Party featuring shopping by the light of lanterns and glowsticks, a glow-in-the-dark craft and spooky storytime. Oct. 26.
It’s Kids Day at The Haunt, when the haunted house tones down the scares in favor of kid-friendly trick-or-treating, face painting, a costume contest and a specially designed attraction filled with playful spooks and friendly frights. Oct. 27.
Hallowee-ones at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park invites kids to dress up in a garden-related costume and join in on a host of Halloween-themed activities. Oct. 28.

Grand Rapids Ballet Junior Company presents The Toymaker, a world premiere production embracing the whimsical fun of Halloween, warmth of Thanksgiving and magic of Christmas. Oct. 25-27.
The Alger Heights Halloween 5K is back after a five-year hiatus – come run, jog, walk or stroll the course through this southeast-side neighborhood. Costumes encouraged! Oct. 26.
The annual Eastown Howl-oween Party includes a pet costume contest, pet-friendly vendors, a craft beer tent, live music and festive activities. Oct. 26.
Caledonia hosts its 4th Annual Halloween Hustle 5K & Fun Run, featuring prizes for best costumes. Oct. 26.
The Grand Rapids Día de lost Muertos Festival is a free cultural and educational event featuring Latin American altars honoring family and friends who have passed away plus music, Latino food, workshops and crafts. In Roosevelt Park Oct. 26-27.

Autumn at Meijer Gardens: Michigan’s Farm Garden includes food trucks, pumpkin-carving demos and a vibrant harvest of heirloom crops. Tuesdays in October.
The Deep Roots Produce Farm Corn Maze in Caledonia offers three trails varying in length and difficulty (open Sep. 61-Oct. 31). Venture into the maze after dark on Glow Nights (Sept. 28, Oct. 4-5, 11-12, 19 & 26).
The 10-acre Big Top Corn Maze at Fruit Ridge Hayrides incorporates interactive games that are fun and challenging for all ages. There’s a one-acre mini corn maze for smaller ones. Other attractions include hayrides, pony rides and rides on a pig train or fire engine. Weekends in fall.
Fall Fun Land activities at Ed Dunneback & Girls Farm include a corn maze, playground, farm animals, bounce pad, wagon ride, barrel train and pumpkin patch. Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays in September and October. The annual Pumpkin Smash ‘n Bash, dropping a massive pumpkin on top of a car, takes place Oct. 26 & 27.
Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery features a family-friendly 6.5-acre corn maze celebrating 75 years of the Peanuts comic strip, plus u-pick apples, hayrides, a petting zoo, jumping pillow and, for the adults, wine and hard cider made right on the farm. Open 7 days a week from Sep. 3-Nov. 2.
