To be clear, Coopersville is not on Lake Michigan – it’s on the way to Lake Michigan from Grand Rapids. An easy exit off the I-96 expressway, about 20 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids and 20 minutes from the beach town of Grand Haven, it’s well worth a stop if you appreciate the warmth and charm of a small town.

Incorporated as a village in 1871 and as a city in 1967, Coopersville covers less than five square miles and is home to fewer than 5,000 people. More than half the land is devoted to agriculture, and several family farms sell their produce and other wares direct to the public. The historic downtown is small but vibrant, especially during community events like the Music on Main concert series every summer.

With great places to explore local history, unique homegrown restaurants and shops, and lots of family-friendly things to do, Coopersville welcomes visitors of all ages and interests
