The Blue Bridge stretches across the Grand River with access points next to GVSU's Eberhard Center and the Grand Rapids River walk near Plaza Towers. The bridge was originally constructed in 1892 as a railroad bridge, but now has been converted into a pedestrian walk. The Blue Bridge is iconic to the city and is the one of the longest truss bridges in Michigan.

    The bridge is accessed from 100 Front Street NW, and 55 Campau Avenue NW. The sidewalks that connect Front Street with the Blue Bridge, and Campau Avenue are wide, stable and level. The sidewalks on the both ends of the bridge connect with the riverfront boardwalk. The Front Street side of the bridge connects to the boardwalk by steps and a curved ramp. There are no handrails along the ramp run. The Campau Avenue side of the bridge connects to the boardwalk by steps and a ramp. The ramp has handrails along both sides of the ramp run.

    There are no public restrooms available.
