Laura networks and connects with organizations and meeting planners across the country to bring national business, education, health/medical, scientific and tech/computer groups to Grand Rapids for meetings and conventions. She doesn’t just tout the many advantages of GR and Kent County, she also works closely with clients and our internal support staff to craft custom solutions for every event.
Laura attended Central Michigan University (“Fire Up Chips!”) in Mount Pleasant – about 90 minutes northeast of Grand Rapids – where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Recreation and Event Management and earned minors in Event Management, Leadership and Advertising. She comes to EXGR by way of sales manager and senior event manager positions in Dallas and St. Louis.
Bio Bits:
- Steers pizza lovers to the Pizza Flight at The Mitten Brewing Co. – a sampler of any four specialty pizzas on the menu.
- Loves to while away a fall afternoon picking apples and munching on “the best donuts in GR” at Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery.
- Names her husband, Patrick, as her favorite travel companion and Edinburgh, Scotland as her favorite non-GR travel destination.
With a list of hobbies that includes concerts, sporting events, craft beers and Lake Michigan beachgoing – all GR specialties – Laura is glad to be back in the city that has always felt most like home. She’s not surprised that people who attend events here often feel like GR is a “home away from home.”
