Grand Rapids is both accessible and convenient for meeting attendees. Our Gerald R. Ford International Airport was ranked #1 in North America (by size) in 2015 – and it’s gotten even better since then, adding new carriers and undergoing a $45 million transformation.
Lines are short – visitors pass through security in less than five minutes, on average – and hospitality is abundant. In addition to a Visitor Information Center and roaming Certified Tourism Ambassadors, planners can arrange for Experience Grand Rapids staff to greet attendees coming off their planes.
The Gerald R. Ford International Airport has introduced a Fly Safe. Fly Ford. campaign to educate travelers on new precautions for their health and restore confidence in air travel. New safety features at the airport include continuous cleaning protocols, hand sanitizer stations, plexiglass dividers at interaction points, visual cues to reinforce physical distancing, and PPE available in concession areas and through vending machines. Passengers, guests and airport personnel are asked to wear facial coverings throughout the terminal. Explore more airport safety measures and travel tips.
